The view from the back of the lot towards the street.Notice the old metal awnings, one of the first things to go.New siding was added to the back and the old jalousied door and windows were replaced, letting in more light and opening up the view.I had a metal roof replace the asphalt shingles. The new path of brick pavers extends around to the back yard. The view with no privacy fence. And the view with the privacy fence!! This shot was taken right after the ficus hedge was planted. One year later and it had grown up another 4 feet.My little dining area. In another year the ficus hedge will be 8 feet tall.
When I finally started looking for outdoor furniture, anyone following my search would have felt the goal was to waste as much time as possible. I sniffed out every sale and deal I could find, wanting to spend as little money as possible yet still get good looking pieces.  Since I was working for myself, I didn't have to worry about the cost of hourly billing. The table came from Home Goods and I got it marked down even further because it was slightly damaged in a way that really didn't matter, but I wasn't about to admit that to the store manager. The chairs were part of a closeout sale at Target and the umbrella was from Walmart.
