Cleaned up, painted and ready to go.View into the dining roomThe closet doors were just flat plywood. We added a wooden frame to make them look like recessed panel doors. The holes were already there for ventilation, and I loved the quirky look of them as well as their functionality. This is the bed that started me on my downward spiral into an ebay moral abyss. I just LOVE it, and I bought the night stand and armoire that matches it. I hung a wall light for extra help in reading in bed.I found the rug in a consignment shop and the floral pillow at Home Goods. I made the boxspring cover,as well as the European pillow sham with my trusty little fingers, I will show the " how to" on my blog.I looked high and low for a table that fit in this tiny space and lucked out with this vintage metal find from a California seller, that's right - ebay! Pictures, lamp, table, bench, fabric - EBAY!!! I got the curtains from Country Curtains, and sewed two panels together for a fuller effect. The match stick blinds were a closeout sale at Home Depot.I love to mix up sheets, notice how the bottom sheet and pillow case are floral, and the top sheet is lace edged. I made the European sham out of old linen napkins pieced together. And of course, no room is complete without plates on the wall.
There was no reason to take before shots of the guestroom, it was just really dirty, with the same fabulous wall to wall gold rug on the floor. (OK, actually, I forgot to take a picture of this room too.) I chose a soft blue for the walls that picked up the color of the new area rug, and found some wonderful barkcloth on ebay for the boxspring cover and little bench. The bed was my downfall into the morally grey area of ebay sniping programs. I was so in love with it, and so afraid someone would steal it out from under me at the last minute, that I invested in one. Now you know one of my dirty little ebay secrets.
